The only remaining town on the Tea-horse Ancient Road

Old Chinese towns are always a great subject of photographic projects, but many of them are overly commercialized and kind of lost their authenticity. Shaxi, unlike other ancient towns, sits on the cross road of historical preservation and commercialization to attract tourists.

In this project, I focused on the tiny bits of buildings and events in Shaxi in order to resemble the daily life of people living here.
